My MLM Experience

us 150x150 How I Started in MLM
My first experience with MLM was in the Spring of 1997
. I was a junior at the William Paterson University of New Jersey. I was playing football and was in a fraternity (had a really good time). I didn’t have time for a J-O-B. I was a bouncer at a local restaurant twice a week, but that was only pocket money and was looking for something BIG. My old roommate said his cousin was working with a long distance company. He told us that his cousin made a lot of money by getting people to switch to their service which was less expensive than their competitors and recruit others to do the same, sign people up.trans

Sounds Easy, Right?I figured I would be bringing in about $1000-2000
in a few months. My first mistake was my sponsor,
he was my friend who signed up with me, so he made a
commission. I was able to get three customers, I had
the service, my parents and a girl that lived on my floor.

I never made a cent, I did not have any training calls,
a mentor, no instructions, just a piece of paper with
useless information. My friend/sponsor never made
anything after he signed me up and we never heard
from my roommate’s cousin again. I quit, went into
an anti-MLM rant and said

“I would NEVER try this again”!

Let’s fast forward to August, 2007
Like a good bottle of wine, the older the better. With
the real estate market in the gutter, my wife began a
search for Work from Home jobs.

After researching the companies for months, she found one
that was interesting to her in a field she can relate to.

I was not happy with my job.  As an Outside Field Inspector in the
Communications Industry
, I decided I wanted to learn the MLM business
and give it a shot!

She then introduced me to the product & company and that is when the words
MLM reappeared. My wife was convinced and signed up
to become a distributor.

We spent invested a lot of money
into our business. We listened to our coach, we spend alot
of money on leads and had nothing to show for it.

We ended up losing around $15,000.

My sponsor had her own problems and but always
told me she would NEVER quit this business. About
two weeks later…she quit the business.

NEVER QUIT!
As I became more involved with the business, I started
to pay close attention to social media sites like Facebook
to promote my business. I started to work closer with
another coach and really used my personal experience
with the product to help generate business.

It was in January 2008, when I saw the light.

I decided to attend my first company event, they hold these
events ever 90 days in different parts of the country, lucky
for me the event in Philadelphia which was only 2.5 hours
away. It was life changing for my business and the methods
I learned right away doubled my business in January, doubled
January’s business in February and in March. I stayed consistent for
every month until now.  The decision I made was to concentrate
on retailing my product and make back the money I lost.

The ultimate plan was to catch up and start over again. I would
start this next chapter of building a team and sharing the methods
of success that I used to turn my business around and I did all
this on a $0 budget.

My mistake in this Industry was not treating my
business as a business.  I looked at it like a hobby and
never put forth the real time and effort to build it.

I had to make a decision and this decision will change
the rest of my life.

This decision was to treat my business like a business.
Even though I am not investing a lot of money and there is no
overhead.  This is my business and to make to successful I will
have to come up with a plan,  become a student of the industry
and learn exactly what it takes to build this business, align myself
with leaders and take MASSIVE ACTION.

The good news is you stopped by at the right time because this
is the next chapter of my Network Marketing career. This is my
house, take a look around and let me know what you think.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

To your MASSIVE success,
